Joined REC: March 2015

Education: Steve holds a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University and a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, California, U.S.

Road to REC: Steve O’Neil has worked in many industries and countries over the course of his 28 year career. His most recent post before joining REC in 2015 was as CEO of Tyden Group, a leading security product specialist. Prior to this, he spent 20 years with TE Connectivity (formerly Tyco Electronics), one of the world’s largest providers of products and solutions for connecting and protecting the flow of power and data in industry. During his time with TE Connectivity, Steve O’Neil held several senior posts in Europe and Asia.


Jan Enno Bicker, Chief Financial Officer

Joined REC: June 2016

Education: Jan holds a Masters of Economics degree.

Road to REC: Jan spent 12 years as the Chief Financial Officer in TE Connectivity before his last position was Vice-President & General Manager in Shanghai, China. Prior to that, he had many years of finance experience, being CFO in multi-diverse industries. He also has extensive international experience, having worked and lived in China, USA and Europe.


Ter Soon Kim, Chief Operating Officer

Joined REC: April 2009

Education: Ter holds a First Class Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Nanyang Technology University in Singapore.

Road to REC: Ter joined REC after 16 years at Tech Semiconductor (S) Pte, Ltd., where he had risen from Process and Equipment Engineer to become Operations Director. Ter Soon Kim has extensive experience in manufacturing and operations. His particular strengths are in the fields of technology transfer project management, yield improvements, process and equipment engineering knowledge and lean manufacturing.



Joined REC: November 2009

Education: Maria holds a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Masters of Laws degree from the National University of Singapore.

Road to REC: Prior to joining REC, Maria was employed with the Singapore Exchange Limited. Before joining the Singapore Exchange Limited, she was the Head of Legal Department in Norske Skog PanAsia Paper Pte. Ltd. She was admitted as Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1989 and the Roll of Solicitors of England & Wales in 2005.


Shankar Sridhara, VICE PRESIDENT, Technology

Joined REC: August 2006

Education: Shankar holds a Doctorate degree in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US

Road to REC: Prior to joining REC, Shankar was a Project Leader at Thin Film Electronics AB in Sweden where he researched on Ferroelectric polymers for memory applications. Before this, he was a Visiting Scientist at Linköping University in Sweden where he studied optical properties of Silicon Carbide – a wide band gap semiconductor used in high power and high frequency applications.


Chia Wai Leng, Vice President, Human Resources

Joined REC: April 2009

Education: Wai Leng graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Road to REC: Wai Leng joined REC from Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. and Compaq Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., where she headed the Total Rewards teams. She has over 26 years experience in human resources and spent her first 13 years at Western Digital, a US-based multinational disk drive manufacturer. There, she was responsible for talent management and acquisition, employee relations, payroll, compensation and benefits and the human resource information system.



Joined REC: January 2012

Education: Cemil holds a Master’s Degree in Business Engineering from the Solvay Business School at the University of Brussels. 

Road to REC: Cemil joined REC after ten years at TomTom Group, a leading brand in GPS navigation, where he was responsible for a number of functions throughout his tenure, including strategy, M&A, market research, business planning and sales operations. Prior to TomTom, he spent five years working in the supply chain and planning group at Toyota Motor Corporation’s European headquarters in Brussels.
